The V-blender is so called because of it ‘V’ shaped mixing vessel. This vessel is mounted on trunnion(s). As the vessel tumbles, the material within repeatedly splits and recombines. Diffusive mixing occurs due to the random free fall of the material within the vessel. This combined with the frictional contact between the material and the vessel inside walls, results in gentle homogenous blending. Blender fill-up volume and speed are the key to mixing efficiency. V-blender may be provided with optional intensifiers for disintegration of agglomerates.
V-blenders are best suited for dry blending of free flowing solids such as plastic granules, milk powder, coffee, cosmetics, spice blends, agrochemicals.
