  • An axial turbine is an axial flow impeller
  • The impeller blade makes an angle of less than 90° with the plane of impeller rotation
  • The locus of the fluid flow occurs along with axis of the impeller, parallel to the impeller shaft
  • Marine propellers, pitched blade turbines, hydrofoil impellers are axial turbines
