What is an anchor agitator / impeller ?
The anchor agitator/impeller is close clearance, radial flow impeller used for mixing of viscous liquids. The sweep diameter of the anchor impeller is generally 90 to 95 percent of the diameter of the vessel. Anchor-shaped impellers are used for liquid viscosities between 5000 and 50,000 cP. They are common in crystallization reactors where cooling through a jacket is necessary along with good mixing.
